Writing is the place

where

I can step off the ledge

fall gracefully into a free flowing waterfall of words

that take me

to

new worlds

undiscovered within me. – Allura Eshmun

A year ago I stepped off a ledge and decided to gracefully fall back into writing. August 2015, I created this website not knowing where it would take me and what I would experience. My own self-consciousness and being my own worst critic gripped me with fear and made me want to keep my personal life lessons or stories all to myself. In the beginning, I watched and watched proudly at the number of viewers/readers visiting this site but really, wishing for thousands to read my stories. My sight was temporarily blinded because views do not equal value. It means more to me if one person reads a story, becomes inspired, finds joy and comfort in reading through the lens of my life. I promised myself to write one story a month and post it to this website. And, it is so.

Now, I realize when you have a gift, in my case writing, no matter how small or big it may seem, share it, because one person may need to hear what you have to say, in a way they can only hear it. A person may need to read that one thing to help them move through the day feeling uplifted and not alone.

This past year, I’ve written a book, writing a second and have four others in progress. I’ve written poems, songs, prayers and tons of sayings all waiting to be published. All I do is write and I love it. There is no certain way to be when I write.

It’s been a really good year and my journey of allowing life to be continues…

I am grateful. Thank you, for reading!
